Perez Hilton has announced he has become a father for the second time with the birth of daughter Mila Alma on Saturday.
Hilton welcomed his second child via surrogate, giving son Mario a baby sister.
The celebrity blogger told The AP on Monday spending time with his daughter was the “best way to celebrate Mother’s Day” on Sunday.
“It is with great pride and relief that I can finally announce: I am a dad again!” he wrote on Instagram along with a photo of Mia’s tiny foot.
Mia was born somewhere in the Midwest, but Hilton declined to reveal the location to protect the surrogate’s identity.
“It's been the hardest secret I've kept in a long time," he said of the months leading up to his daughter’s birth. He revealed he had undergone a few unsuccessful attempts at IVF. "I was starting to lose hope," he admitted.
"I'm excited for the two of them, so they can have each other and my son can look after her. It's a real family now,” he added.
Hilton will now become an active advocate for surrogacy and in-vitro fertilization.
